Meet Acts of Humanity: The Power of Purposeful Events Contributor – Christoph Tessmar

In Acts of Humanity: The Power of Purposeful Events we had the pleasure of working with a number of contributors. Each brought insights, stories, and experiences that resulted in a fabulous book.

One such contributor was Christoph Tessmar – an events leader in Barcelona’s convention ecosystem. He began his career in Germany in pharma in the late 1980s, moved to Barcelona before the 1992 Olympics, and later worked in corporate congress and city-level convention activity; he also speaks directly to the “citizen” dimension of events—cities as lived places, not just venues.

Christoph helped strengthen the book’s thinking in Essay 4.11 | Footprints in The Sand around the citizen dimension of events: the idea that cities are lived places, not simply venues, and that gatherings should create value beyond the attendee badge.

Many thanks to Christoph for his time and being part of this project!

Acts of Humanity: The Power of Purposeful Events comes out early August but is available for pre order now!
